The Art & Heart of EMDR: Beyond the Basics Reboot - Applying the Model with Cultural Confidence is a dynamic EMDR Reboot and Refresher designed to take you Beyond the Basics - for clinicians who want to both revisit the model’s foundations and expand their ability to work effectively across cultures—particularly with Spanish-speaking populations. This training blends review, skill-building, and cultural application, guiding participants to reconnect with the Heart of EMDR while refining their technical precision.
Through hands-on practice, Lecture, case reviews, and guided discussion, participants will revisit EMDR’s structure, phases, and interventions, explore how historical and cultural perspectives shape behavior, relationships, and connection. Special focus will be given to adapting language and techniques to honor deeply rooted cultural values, navigate verbal and nonverbal nuances, and address clinical challenges with cultural sensitivity and flexibility.
While the emphasis is on strategies for Spanish-speaking clients, the principles and interventions taught will strengthen EMDR work with other richly contextual cultures. Participants will also benefit from the collaborative exchange of real-world experiences, broadening their understanding of how EMDR lives and breathes in diverse contexts.
