This 4 hour Intermediate online specialty training thoroughly integrates EMDR into grief-related counseling in each phase of EMDR therapy. Krista Helman, EMDR Approved Consultant and expert on grief and loss guides you through EMDR-related history-taking and treatment-planning considerations specific to clients facing grief-related challenges.

Krista shares multiple resource, client examples and options to illustrate the application of EMDR to various client presentations, including the loss of a pet, complicated grief, and other presenting issues.
This course will provide you with immediately usable resources for EMDR work with clients stuck in the process of resolving grief from loss.

This training was inspired by a variety of trainings and EMDR protocols, and provides a condensed introduction to EMDR for grief and loss. Additional training and supervision are recommended for participants seeking a more comprehensive understanding and proficiency in using EMDR for
grief therapy.

About the Instructor(s)

KRISTA HELMAN

Krista is passionate that understanding the mind and body connection is vital to improved mental health and wellbeing. Completing her Master of Social Work at Carleton University, she has also worked in government and health care settings. Specializing in trauma and grief, Krista’s private practice focuses on psychotherapy encompassing EMDR, Ego State Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and the Safe and Sound Protocol. She is the Co-Director of the West Ottawa Wellness clinic, and a Consultant with the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI), where she delivers mental health-related training. As an EMDRIA-approved Consultant, Krista is committed to professional development and offers EMDR-related coaching and consultation services. Her latest projects are a workshop for mental health professionals and a self-help book to support anyone experiencing grief and loss.

Grievance Policy

Cancellation Policy

We will allow refunds up to 3 days prior to the event less a $15 processing fee. Cancellations after that are non-refundable.
