Breaking the Chains: An EMDR Approach to Healing Childhood Wounds & Family Patterns

AIP, Family Systems, Developmental & Attachment Theory Integrations with EMDR Interventions

With Kenya Rocha

Abstract

This 5 hour program led by Kenya Rocha MS, LMHC, NCC explores how early attachment wounds, generational trauma, and maladaptive family dynamics contribute to emotional distress and dysfunction. Putting together the conceptualization integrations of Developmental, Attachment and AIP Theories, and using the eight-phase EMDR model, participants will learn how to identify how childhood trauma appears in adults, process, and reframe negative beliefs rooted in childhood experiences. Through a combination of lecture, case studies, and experiential exercises, clinicians will gain practical tools to conceptualize, recognize and treat family patterns that cause childhood wounds.

Case Conceptualization through the AIP helps the clinician view cyclical and multiple person dynamics at play in dysfunctional familial and relational interactions.
