Kenya Rocha, LMHC, an EMDRIA Approved Basic Trainer, brings her extensive experience in teaching, consultation, and clinical practice to this 6-hour training. This training equips clinicians with the tools they need to strengthen their confidence and fidelity in EMDR therapy.
This course provides an advanced, practice-focused exploration of EMDR therapy grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model. Participants will review the foundational principles of AIP and refine application of EMDR’s eight phases and three stages. Through discussion of the EMDR Processing Continuum (EMD, EMDr, EMDR), clinicians will learn how to select and apply the most appropriate approach for different clinical presentations.
Special emphasis is placed on enhancing client stability through affect regulation and resourcing, integrating belief system congruence to deepen processing, and adapting EMDR techniques across developmental stages and cultural contexts. Practical considerations for each phase of EMDR are highlighted, with attention to disrupted attachment histories and developmental impacts such as those outlined by Erikson’s psychosocial stages.
Drawing from the latest peer-reviewed research, this training equips clinicians with updated knowledge and actionable strategies to apply EMDR with greater confidence, precision, and cultural responsiveness.
